We nurture local communities and sponsor charity projects
that foster global ocean conservation.
Onceayear Global Ocean is a non-profit organisation that believes that local communities are the best advocates of the waters they live by.
Why
We believe that acting locally is a socially beneficial way to tackle the global water emergency, and we commit to sponsoring at least one ocean conservation project per year.
Local environmental initiatives have the potential to succeed because the drive to live in a healthy and pleasant local environment intersects with ease of access for action. In this context, each valid idea can ignite spontaneous social cooperation and lead to gratifying achievements. Meaningful community efforts can durably shape the local relationship with the environment. Be it in a coastal village, or a hamlet on a glacier, any beneficial intervention will be carried along by water in its endless circulation around the globe.
Onceayear Global Ocean’s long-term vision is to disseminate a culture of care, curiosity and respect for the oceans by nurturing and supporting constructive and dedicated water advocates. A global network of local communities will be their supporting and inspiring base.

Thanks to our direct engagement, your donation will not be wasted on middlemen or overheads: it will go straight from us to the project you believe in.

We work with ocean conservation organisations wherever they are. We want to build a global network of ocean lovers determined to make a difference for our dream ocean: everyone’s healthy ocean.
We take a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to conservation, revolving around two fundamental pillars.
Education and awareness, to inspire more and more people to act for our ocean.
Action and practice, to empower and scale the positive impact of the great organisations and communities that are and will make the difference to save our ocean.

Domenico Iuliano and Paola Rigamonti – Founders:
As true Italians, Paola and Domenico have grown up with a strong attachment to the sea. This love for the sea has inspired them to start this new adventure, Onceayear Global Ocean, a foundation dedicated to the world’s oceans and their people. Besides their passion for the sea, Paola is interested in the arts and health food, while Domenico spends his time exploring numbers.
